UNDP SDG Impact selected to showcase its mission at 5th edition of Paris Peace Forum

Following a competitive selection process, UNDP SDG Impact, a flagship initiative to help the private sector accelerate private capital and activity to the SDGs, has been chosen as one of the 60 projects to showcase its work at the 5th edition of the Paris Peace Forum, 11 to 12 November 2022. The annual event was launched by French President Emmanuel Macron in 2018 and brings together Heads of State, international organizations, civil society and the private sector to address the world’s greatest challenges.

This year’s theme is Riding Out The Multicrisis as the global community faces the devastating effects of COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and continuing conflicts around the world.

In addition to having a booth at the Paris Peace Forum, UNDP SDG Impact’s director, Fabienne Michaux, will also be speaking on the panel, Work With Purpose: Reinforcing The Role Of Companies To Reach SDGs By 2030.

UNDP SDG Impact, part of the UNDP Sustainable Finance Hub, is making it easier for investors and businesses to realize their sustainability and SDG intentions as well as commitments in a holistic, credible and accountable way.

Its SDG Impact Standards are voluntary management standards designed to guide businesses and investors on their sustainability journeys. Organized around 12 implementation actions, they provide a holistic universal framework and management approach for embedding sustainability and the SDGs in all decision-making across organizational purpose, strategy, internal management, disclosure and governance practices.

The SDG Impact Standards are accompanied by the forthcoming SDG Impact Assurance Framework, SDG Impact Seal and training. These components help organizations increase the likelihood that they are operating sustainably and contributing positively to the SDGs, strengthen impact integrity and counter impact-washing in the private sector.

Its SDG Investor Map help organizations direct their activities and capital to where it can have the most impact on SDG outcomes in developing markets. It is a country-level market intelligence tool that pinpoints where investment themes and business models that are aligned to national sustainable development needs, government policy priority areas and investor interest overlap. The data that spans over 400 investment opportunity areas in 23 countries and counting, is available for free on the SDG Investor Platform.
